There are many people who still hang on to the belief that a Filipina is a creature from the 19th century. We are in the 21st Century now. Most Filipinas today have retained the best of their traditions and have also taken on the best of new ways. A Phenomenal Filipina pushes the limits of who she is. Many Filipinas have been doing that for a long time now.

A message for Filipinas who are looking to push the limits:

Many people are still shackled within their subconscious beliefs that race and gender are determining factors of superiority. We cannot continue to live in this type of paradigm of power, dominance and illusory hierarchies. All this is part of an existence that great minds throughout the history of civilization have called Illusion. We must learn to live beyond a world of stereotypes and prejudices and no longer ignore, shun and despise change and the expansiveness of Creation. For change has been taking place from the Beginning and hasn't stopped. It has even accelerated. We must all open our eyes to the interwoven diversity, beauty and potential of all people including ours selves.

There are many people who just want to help bring that consciousness about on the Internet. We are Filipinas of that frame of mind and of such heart.

Filipinas are as diverse as they come even if the Internet and mainstream western media does not reflect that yet.

The Internet is a powerful tool to discover the world and get connected to goods, people and ideas. Unfortunately, a query done on "filipina" at search engines such as altavista, yahoo and google garner results of many sites and web pages that don't complete the picture of who Filipinas are. And if you do a thorough inquiry, you will find that many domain names containg "filipina" in it are mainly about two things. Go ahead, I dare you: look "filipina" up in search engines. And try to look up domain names with "filipina" in it---such as filipina[adjective].com or [adjective]filipina.com. Or try to look up babae.com(be forewarned---this is a porn site with explicit pictures on the front page). It isn't fair that many filipina sites that are made today are still made by men and that these sites are categorized as "mature content." There is something wrong and unfair about this!

The sites that come up are mostly about the same topics. And after you get the facts for your self, I dare you to DO something about it for yourself. OR for others.

And thus, we Filipino cyberdivas cannot leave it to the sites made by-men-and-for-men to represent alone who we and all Filipinas are. We must take it upon ourselves.
